Chuck Norris was determined to make Walker, Texas Ranger ''entertaining for the whole family''

There will never be another Chuck Norris. From being a movie star to taking over television screens as Cordell Walker on Walker, Texas Ranger, and being a martial arts champion, Norris was a hero in many different ways.

Going from movies to television, Norris knew his filming schedule would be hectic, especially after a call with fellow actors experienced in TV work. However, he was determined to make Walker, Texas Ranger "entertaining for the whole family," he said in a 1996 interview with the Associated Press. For those who had an issue with the violence in the action series, Norris had the perfect response.

"It's not violence for violence's sake, with no moral structure. You try to portray the proper meaning of what it's about — fighting injustice with justice, good vs. bad."

Watch Walker, Texas Ranger on H&I

Monday through Friday at 1 AM & 5 AM, Saturdays at 4 PM & 5 PM, Sundays at 1 PM - 5 PM Eastern/Pacific

Throughout its nine seasons, viewers saw Walker and his partner, James Trivette (Clarence Gilyard), and the rest of the characters do exactly that. They were stepping in and giving voices to the voiceless, using their power and fighting skills to show the world that evil shouldn't prevail.
