R.I.P. Gary Graham, Ambassador Soval on Star Trek: Enterprise and star of Alien Nation
Posted: January 24, 2024, 10:18AMGary Graham, best-known for his starring role as Detective Matthew Sikes on Alien Nation and Ambassador Soval on Star Trek: Enterprise, has died.
Graham's wife, Becky Graham, told The Hollywood Reporter that he passed away on Monday, January 22, at a hospital in Spokane, Washington.
Born in Long Beach, California, on June 6, 1950, the actor began making his mark in show business in 1975. With more than 38 TV roles and 40 movies under his belt, Graham's work made him a familiar face.
One of his earliest on-screen appearances was in the 1980s CBS mini-series Scruples and he was also cast opposite Bruce Willis in the series Moonlighting as a hitman.
In 1989, the actor became Matthew Sikes, a human detective who partnered with an extraterrestrial newcomer to solve crimes. He would continue the role in the made-for-television movies Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (1994), Alien Nation: Body and Soul (1995), Alien Nation: Millennium (1996), Alien Nation: The Enemy Within (1996), and Alien Nation: The Udara Legacy (1997).
On Star Trek: Enterprise, he portrayed the recurring character Ambassador Soval, a Vulcan Ambassador to Earth, and frequently made appearances throughout the Star Trek franchise including Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, and in Star Trek: Renegades.
He was 73.
